The City of Fairfield has reported the sighting of a mountain lion on Rancho Solano open space. A park ranger has been onsite to follow up and Fish & Wildlife has been informed. This news serves as an important reminder that we live in an area that is home to a number of wild animals and precautions should always be taken with loose dogs and cats, and most importantly, children. It is important that residents be aware of their surroundings, particularly in the evening hours, and should always be vigilant to the possibility of wild animals such as mountain lions, bobcats and coyotes.
